I didn't know a whole lot about Imago Dei .
I've read Ricks book Beautiful Mess but beyond that, the church was new to me.

It sounds like they recently moved into this old church that actually looks like the average Adventist church. I like seeing what a current church does with an old building like this (ugly carpet, gnarly acoustics...)

The band was made up of a young team with a very acoustic feel.
They used a piano, cello, drums, 2 acoustic guitars, a violin, glock and a banjo.
They sounded like Gungor blended with Mumford and Sons . Very tight, simple and pretty.

The tables in front of the stage held communion stations where, at a certain point in the service, people could walk up and take communion with either real wine or grape juice. It sounded like they brought communion quite often.
There might have been 800 or 1000 people in the room but it still felt fairly intimate and familylike.
I enjoyed Image Dei more than any other stop on the trip. It was real and raw and it felt like they were writing their own genre. Which is rare.
