Shift

I would like to see a shift happen in church culture.  A shift from religious to spiritual

I sense that many traditions and disciplines that are practiced in the church have lost their spirituality and have become empty, meaningless acts of obligation rather than intimate encounters with God. It's hard to find words to describe what I'm thinking of, but I have seen so many faith traditions like singing, giving, attending church, the reading of scripture, "devotionals" (what does that even mean?) become things that we do just for the sake of doing them and just because it's what we've always done.

I've heard some people say that Christianity is empty. . .maybe it's because we are practicing empty traditions?

It would be arrogant to say that these are meaningless for everyone, and I am sure that when each tradition was born, it was an intensely spiritual act, but somewhere along the line, it feels like we lost our mystic approach to the most mystical Being of all.

Does anybody resonate with this? How can this shift take place?
